The building of homes is improving, too.Mitchell and Wolf Laurel, located 12 miles north of Mars Hill and 27 miles north of Asheville off U.S. Highway 23, have gone hand-in-hand through some bad times. First, it was the 60-Minute Cleaner System that was developing the area but it failed. Then, another group came in to put new life in Wolf Laurel and Mitchell was a member.This second plan also failed and then came Bald Mountain Development Corporation and Mitchell, a prominent member of the group.“We are making progress andl feel real good about this entire affair,” Mitchell said. “We have everything a person needs to have a fine vacation and can assure them of excellent cool weather. We have mountain music played in our restaurant and lounge every weekend and offer people a fine place to play and relax.”
