Mr. and Mrs. William H. Wehrs observed their 50th wedding an niversary Sunday, June 22, with a dinner gathering of 60 at St. John’s Lutheran Church parlors in Barre Mills. Included among these guests were the couple’s six children, 17 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and the Rev. H. E. Paustian who gave the noon prayer, Mr. and Mrs. Wehrs are life long residents of Barre Mills. The home in which they reside is Mr. Wehrs’ birth place. The couple's children in attend ance who also helped plan the celebration were Mr. and Mrs. Weiton Wehrs and family, Barre Mills; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Gin ther and John, Melrose; Mr. and Mrs. William Wehrs Jr. and fam ily and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Wehrs and family, La Crosse; Mr. and Mrs. Bob Eckelberg and family, Winona; and Maynard Wehrs, at home. Open house was at the church in the afternoon and at the cou ple’s home in the evening. Rela tives from a distance attending the celebration were Mr. and Mrs. Weiton Buchholz and Mr. and Mrs. Arlyn Weers, Elma, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Dogs, Appleton; and Rosa Rickmann, Mrs. Edna Schacht and Everett, Cresco, Iowa.
