IBy HAZEL SHOREJudging by the elaborate programs which are pouring in daily, Independence Day is going to be the biggest holiday the Far East Command has experienced since the end of the war. The Army, the Air Force and the Navy have gone all-out in planning carnivals, parades, picnics, shows, dances, athletic contests, concerts and fireworks displays.Tokyo’* FourthIn Tokyo Headquarters and Service Group Special Services is responsible for a 12 hour program which includes everything from a carnival in the -parking lot next to the Imperial Hotel to five softba It games. The carnival opens at 1 o'clock with hot dogs, hula girls, judo, rides for the youngsters, bingo, five Japanesegames-of-chance, two PX refreshment stands and. numerous exhibits. There will be a 10 cent charge for each concession and a percentage of the proceeds will be set aside for Army Emergency Relief.Scfrtball schedule for the day includes: TIS versus Navy, 71st Signal Battalion versus 64th Engineers, GHQ versus CPC, CCD versus MRU and in, the evening, Occupation League all-stars versus Tokyo League all stars at . Stateside , Park. Music for the games will be furnished by the Kobe Band. There will be a special, stage show at the Ernie Pyle Theater at 7:30 p.m. and the fireworks display is scheduled for Nile Kinniqk Stadium at -8:80.-pan. Preceding the fireworks there witt.be an outdoor concert by the -FEAF Band.
