Gronfors Observe Golden WeddingW£atevrelw«ThT1anFIQtandaoflelt;MA'te.1Mr. and Mrs. Clement Gronfor, north of Rake, were honored on their 50th wedding anniversary when their children held open house at the Bethany Lutheran church on Sunday afternoon,. June 17th. Over 200 relatives and friends called.A short program wfts given, with Vernon Gronfor master of ceremonies. Clemence Gronfor sang a solo, “Oh Happy Home. Gene Okerlund, a grandson, played a trumpet solo, “Trees.” Miss Marilyn Quam, a granddaughter, gave a reading, Ludvig Almlie sang a solo in Norwe- . glan, a message was brought by A Pastor John M. Johnson, and a vocal 111 selection by a quintet of their 5 children, sang, “Blest Be The Ties That Binds.”The dining room was decorated with bouquets of flowers, Mrs. Gronfor wore a corsage of red roses.Carolyn Quam, a granddaughter, registered the guests. Mrs. Vernon Gronfor and Mrs. Alan Gronfor poured and Mrs. Florence Satre of Fargo, N. Dak., cut the cake. Unit 3 of the Bethany Ladies Aid served the refreshments.Their received many gifts, inducing gold wrist watches from their children.Guests were from Willmar, Ruth-ven ,Tracy, Balaton, Henderson, Minneapolis, St. Paul, St, James, Northfield, Fairmont, Fargo, N. Dak., Kenyon, Shakopee, Forest City, Pocahontas, Blue Earth, Albert Lea, GlenviUe, Rake, Frost, Brice-lyn and Kiester,Lisebeth Mickaelson and Clement Gronfor were married June 20, 1906 by Pastor J. L. Odland. Their attendants were Nettie Mickaelson Gronfor, Brieelyn, Nellie Gronfor Heitkamp, Henderson, Olava Mickaelson Nelson, deceased, John Gronfor, Brieelyn, Martin Taylor, deceased, Christ Erdahl, Kenyon. Flower girls were Amanda Gunderson Erdahl of Forest City and Esther Gunderson Torkelson of El-slmfablt;dlt;ctmore. ~Mr. and Mrs. Gronfor have five children: Mrs. Lennis (Freda) Quam of Frost, Vernon Gronfor of. Shakopee, Mrs. Orvis (Alpha) Okerlund of Pocahontas, Allan Gronfor of Minneapolis, and. Clemence, who is teaching in Moorhead. A boy died in infancy. They also have 13 grandchildren.The Gronfors have lived on a ifarm 5 miles north of Rake' since their marriage.Both Mr. and Mrs. Gronfor are enjoying good health and are active in the community. They are members of the Bethany Lutheran church, north of Rake.
