On the Fourth of July, Father Tieken will offer up a Mass of Thanksgiving and Sunday, July 8, will be general ( mmunion day for the parish. The cl ildren will receive Solemn Communion at 7:30 on that Sunday.architecture of the new St. Catherine Church is Norman Gothic, a tvpe conceived in the tenth and eleventh centuries when the light of Cath-oli* faith bunted brightest. It is a con-option. in brick and stone, of the Christ-like on earth, shorn of all pretendon and superficiality, beautiful in jr implicity.The edified is of Bedford stone, the rents of slate. It is 148 feet long and eighty-eight feet wide. There are two towers, one sixty-seven feet high, the ot r fifty-eight. From the nave floor to the highest point of the vaulted ceiling it is thirty-seven feet. Over the r ain entrance is a statue of St. Catherine of Sienna, and on each side of it a panel, one bearing the coat-of-arms of Pope Pius XI and the other the coat- r •-■y-arms of the archbishop. The rose window in the front facade is practical- a ly ten teet in diameter. }The church is cruciform in shape, i, am! tht walls and ceilings are rough j, r-'ier finished.
