■■r—■ ■■■■■■ ■ ------------, - ■ ■■ —Vanderpools celebrate milestoneA 50th wedding anniversary was celebrated on Saturday, June K5, for Donald L. and Rose Marie Vanderpool of Towanda at their home hosted by their family.The Vanderpools were married in Towanda on June 18, 1949. The couple have eight children, with one being deceased on Jan. 7, 1995. They have 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Through the couple’s hardships, the family managed to stay close.Donald has been named honorary Chief Grandfather Vanderpool as the head of the Vanderpool tribe here in Bradford County. He discovered his Indian descent after doing his family history and discovering the Oneida female that married Sir William Johnson and moved to Bradford County.Donald has worked on his family history for approximately 20 years while lovingly caring for hisRose Marie• iand Donald Vanderpoolwife at home, who is a stroke victim.The couple would appreciate a card from friends to honor their 50th anniversary.
