To act on vetoesMADISON (AF) — Gov. Patrick J. Lucey today called a special session of the legislature for Thursday to consider partial vetoes he is to make in the 1977-79 state budget.Budget signing ceremonies are set for 9:15 a.m. Tuesday. Lucey called the special session for 9 a.m. Thursday.The special session will fall during the final week of the current session before lawmakers recess for two months and will be a concurrent session dealing specifically with thevetoes.Lucey said he called the special session with the concurrence or legislative leaders in order to give both houses the earliest opportznity to act on vetoes. *“With this expeditious procedure we should be able to wrap up budget considerations by the end of this week,” said Lucey, who is is to resign July 6 to become ambassador to Mexico.
