Golden Wedding: jft is rare indeed to find a couplewhose married life lias reached the/ •half century mark, and such an event is the occasion of sincere congratulation. Yesterday was the'.'fiftieth anniversary of the marriage of Mr, and Mrs, Samuel Anderson, and their home was filled during the day und evening with friends who came to express their pleasure at the event and extend their best wishes for years of future happiness. The house was beautifully trimmed for the occasion with a great profusion of fragrant flowers, and over the archway between the two parlors were the figures 1845—1805. During the afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Anderson and their son Will and daughters Misses .Jennie and Angie were kept busy receiving old friends and in the evening the house was filled with guests. Pleasant features of the occasion were remarks by Rev. D. Cocli-lin, Rev. J. if. IIall and Rev. W. K. Wright and a pooin on the fiftieth wedding anniversary, read by Miss i Nettie Gray, and every one was delighted by a talk by Mr. Anderson giving interesting rerainiscenses of life early in the century. When he and Mrs. Anderson were married the illumination was furnished by candles and last night their pretty home, brilliantly lighted by electricity, showed the advance that the world has made in the last half century. Among the pleasant mementoes left by the friends were five gold pieces, a handsom o arm chair and other pleusant souvenirs of, the occasion. Of the children livingonly thrco could be present, If. II.
