arms.Local Scouts Complete Skills CourseBight Chief Logan District Scouts were among 32 boys who completed a week-long skills development course at Cary Camp near Lafayette recently.The course, called Brownsea 22, featured the same games, skills and competitions used by Scouting's founder, Robert Baden-Poweil, at the first Scout camp at Brownsea island, England, in 1907.The Scouts are Todd Winegardner of Troop 202, Bray Becker and Andy Glertdening of Troop 203, Logansport; Kevin Jones and Mike Rice of Troop 251, Kewanna; and Ed Shank, Marty Potrawski and Eric Berger, Troop 229, Winamac. Shank was elected one of the permanent patrol leaders.The highlight of the week was a feast of barbecued chicken prepared by the Scouts for their parents and Scoutmasters.
