Couple Wed25 YearsMr. and Mrs. E. Paul McClintock of Confluence RD 3 were the surprised and honored guests at a 25th Wedding Anniversary Party given at their home on June 16 by their children. Thirty-five friends and relatives attended.Mrs. McClintock is the former Bess Stairs, daughter of the late James and Freda Stairs of Confluence. Paul’s parents were Edwin and Jane McClintock of Dumas.The couple was married on June 16,1951, in Oakland, Md. They set up housekeeping in Confluence, then lived in Somerset.They have lived in their present home for 20 years. Both are members of the United Methodist Church at Harnedsville.McClintock worked as a mechanic before their marriage. Presently he is the Service Manager at Nace Chevrolet in Confluence. Paulis also the elected tax collector for Addison Twp. and has recently been appointed as Earned Income tax collector for the Turkeyfoot Valley Area School District.Bess used to be an attorney’s secretary. Right now she is an office clerk at Nace Chevrolet.Mr. and Mrs. McClintock are the parents of five children: Daniel of Confluence RD 3; John of Fort Hill; and Mark, Janice, and Gail, all at home. They also have two grandchildren.Paul’s hobby is buying and restoring antique cars. Bess says she is too busy for hobbies.The couple was presented with a silver tea set in honor of their 25th Anniversary by their children.
