Sixty-tour years ago Thomas Carr, near Medora, gave each of his sons, John F. and ti. W., an apple tree, to be planted by the lads. Both trees grew finely, but on the day that John died, the tree planted by him fell. G. YV. Carr lived to be an old man, dying recently at Crawfordr.ville, and it•is claimed as a coincidence that on tlie day he died the tree planted in his youth also fell.
