Mr. and Mrs. Edwin JannuschEdwin9 Martha Jannusch observe 50th anniversary•/Lifelong area residents Edwin and Martha Jannusch, 722 W. Euclid, Arlington Heights, will observe their golden wedding anniversary Sunday with a 1 p.m. service in St. Peter Lutheran Church, Arlington Heights, an open house, also in the church, and a reception for immediate family in the Palatine home of their son.Both Martha, daughter of Henry and Dorothea Schroeder of Arlington Heights, and Edwin, son of Charles and Marie Jannusch, Des Plaines, were bom in Wheeling Township. Edwin attended Emannual Lutheran School, Des Plaines, and Martha attended St. Peter Lutheran School, Arlington Heights.THEY FIRST MET at an old-timedance in Palatine and were married June 23, 1928, in the Schroeder home at 834 N. State Rd. Edwin was employed by Creamery Package in Arlington Heights until it closed in theearly ’60s. He then went to work for an electrical company in Elk Grove Village, retiring in 1974.He and Martha have two children, Joyce Fitch of Arlington Heights, and E. Roger Jannusch, Palatine. They also have six grandchildren.Dr. Robert 0. Bartz, pastor of St. Peter, and the Rev. Harry Fricke, former pastor who performed the wedding ceremony for the couple 50 years ago, will officiate at the anniversary service.The couple’s grandson, Marc Jannusch, will be violinist for the service, and their grandson Rick Fitch, soloist. Grandsons Gregg Jannusch and Ed Fitch will give toasts and their granddaughters, Kathy Jannusch Kline and Cheryl Jannusch, and their daughter-in-law, Jo Ann Fitch, are baking and decorating a large wedding cake to be served at the open house.
