Alley piteh seen gaining council okayMonessen Council is expected to act favorably at its meeting Monday night on a request from First Federal Savings Loan Association to have a nearby alley vacated.The KMoot aliey is between the financial institution property and the Kulik Building which it has purchased. The alley was converted to a pedestrian walkway some nine years ago.First Federal President Ray C, Galey said the Kulik property will become the site for some banking operations. Only tenant there now is the Jenny Shop which is moving cater-comer across Conner Ave. to a building being constructed at the site of the burned former Rosenson’s store.* Mr. Galey said there will be no change mthe status of the alley. He said no determination has been made whether the Kulik Building will be renovated or razed.An informational meeting was held with Council Monday but no action was taken. However, observers told the Valley Independent there were indications favorable action would be forthcoming at the next meeting.
