Mr. and Mrs. Elbert CooperFete Elbert Coopers, Married 50 YearsThe Afro-Art center in Chicago was the setting last Sunday for the celebration marking the 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Cooper, 1521 Wentworth, ChicagoHeights.A reception was given by the couple’s eight children: Freddie Cooper and Mrs. Elsie Willis, both of Markham; Elbert, Jr., of Chicago, and Mrs. Ernestine Guest, Calvin, Alvin,Raymond and Jackie, all of Chicago Heights. All were bom and reared in Chicago Heights.The couple have 23 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. They were married June 7, 1921, in Missouri and came to Chicago Heights the following year. Mr. Cooper is a retired construction worker and a native of Mississippi. Mrs. Cooper, the former Lorene Sawyer, was born in Missouri.
