MARKING 50 YEARS OF MARRIAGE Mr. and Mr*. Claire LapnClaire Lopezes wed 50 yearsA weekend surprise party was held for Mr. and Mrs Claire (Evelyn) Lopez of Fremont in honor of their 50th wedding anniversary.Hostessed by their daughter. Mr. Robert Joseph of Castro Valley, it took place in the Adobe Community Center in that community. .The couple's other two children were unable to attend They are Mns. Beverly Palmer of Woodstock, Ga. ami Claire Lopez Jr.. of Greenville. S C. Three of their seven grandchildren did participate in the festivities.Married in Modesto, of which Mrs. l,opez Is a native ihe was bom in the Az-ores). they moved lo Fremont shortly thereafter.Mr. Lopez is a retired engineer employed by Leslie Salt Co.. for whom he still does some consulting work. He has served on the Fremont Planning Commission and the Washington Union High School District Board of Trustees.
