MR. AND MRS. AUGUST WINKLEMAN OBSERVED THEIR GOLDEN WEDDING JUNE 8THMr. and Mrs, August Winkleman observed their fiftieth wedding anniversary June 8th, in their home at Lakota.Mr. and Mrs. Winkleman were married1 fifty years ago at Elgin, Iowa, by the Rev. Mr. Schunke, in the presence of 200 guests. Immediately after the ceremony they left on a trip to the World's Fair inChicago (1893).«For seven years they operated a farm near Elgin and in 1900 they came to Winnebago county. During this period of time they have witnessed many changes.All of the immediate family returned home to celebrate the occasion: Mr. and Mrs.' Carl Miller and three daughters of Elgin, Rev. A. W. Winkleman of DesMoines, Walter Miller and family, Walter Winkleman and family of ,Buffalo Center, and Fred Winkleman, and family of Dakota. Mrs. Winklemans brother, John Krebs of Elgin and Mr. and Mrs. Wendel Koch and family were also present for the event. .Mr. and Mrs. Winkleman received j many beautiful gifts and cards and I flowers -as reminders of this import- j ant day in their lives.
