Site Of New Structure Scene OtJ Drowning Of Lillie Speilman, \ Last April.The work of erecting a new con- J ereie bridge over Double Pipe Creek, near Detour, on the site of the bridge | washed away about two months ago, is now well under way. The new structure will be on the exact loca-. tion of the eld bridge, it was at this j site that Miss Ullie Speilman. the* IS-year-old daughter of Robert Spell-j man drowned last April. jPresident of the County Commis-j sinners David Olad. inspected the] work yesterday. The- bridge is being erected by the Luten Bridge Company, York. Pa., and will Span the river at a point where the stream Is I nearly two hundred feet wide. It' Swill rest on two abutments and two1 'piers. The piers will be is the r stream and the abutments at each ‘end of the structure. About a dozen^men are employed and the work is -being pushed to completion as rapid-t Iy as possible.J The bridge is beinac replaced joini-tlj by the FYederick and Carrol! county commissioners. It is practically ion the hue of the two counties, a 1 short distance from Detour and will jserve considerable traffic. It will j-consist cf three arches with a concrete approach on each side. Mr. ■Oland -stated that, wbeii completed the bridge will be one of the most substantial and lasting at any point along the stream.
