Jacob UrbanJacob Urban, 89, of Colorado Springs died Thursday in a Colorado Springs nursing home.He was a farmer in Kansas and worked for the Alexander Film and Aircraft Mechanics.The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 3101 Poinsetta, with the Rev. George Fagan officiating. Burial will be at Eveffereen Cemetery.A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in Nolan Funeral Home, 225 N. Weber St., with the Rev. James Whittle officiating.Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.Mr. Urban was born March 15, 1896, in Pfeifer, Kan., before moving to Colorado Springs.His parents were the late John and Apolonia (Apfelhans) Urban.He was married Aug. 24 1932, in Schoenchen, Kan., to Margaret Zimmerman, who survives.He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, where he was an usher and helped to build the church.Other survivors are six sons, Don, Marvin, Roy and Hubert, all of Colorado Springs, James of Amarillo and Edward Worthe of San Francisco; seven daughters, Phyllis Wagaman, Beverly Newborn, Eleanor DeMarco, Monica Moberly, Sally Wilmot and Viola Wichman, all of Colorado Springs and Florence Basgall of LaCrosse, Kan.; 30 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by a son, Leslie, and three sisters.
