Ft. Lee Major On Downed PlaneFT. LEE—Major Emory D. Weatherly of Ft. Lee was among the 89 persons aboard a Japanese jet liner which crashed in New Delhi on Wednesday.The major is listed as missing pending identification procedures.Maj. Weatherly, who was assigned to the Quartermaster School Airborne Department, was a part of the special 1972 Philip A. Connelly Award Team which was on a world-wide evaluation tour of large dining facilities for the U. S. Army.The team left Ft. Lee on May 3, toured various CONUS installations, then went to Alaska, Korea and Okinawa and was headed for Germany on the last leg of the tour.The major's wife, Betty, and three children live in Colonial Heights.
