Park Villa on Sunday.The family consists of a descendants of the late John Franz of Pipestone township, Johan Gottlieb Franz, Niles, and their five sisters, Christina Barbara Lindel, South • *Bend; Anna Marie Bauers, Benton Harbor; Maria Roth, Christina Bauman, and Caroline Klinect, all of Ohio. All are direct descendants of Michael Franz of Germany and Austria.Oldest member present was an earlier day Berrien county sheriff, Fred C. Franz, of Niles; youngest were the great grandsons of Fred, six months old Sandra Scott Shipe and Keith Brooks. Honored for coming the greatest distance were Mi*, and Mrs. Ole Brenne of Ludington.Relatives were on hand from Niles, Lansing, Grand Rapids, and Edwardsburg, Mich., and Dalton, Ohio, as well as from the local area.Of much interest to the group was a printed booklet tracing the gene-ology of the Franz family. This was compiled by Mrs. Earl Smith, the former Lucille Franz.Elected for next year's reunion were Eldon W. Franz, route 1, Eau Claire, chairman, succeeding Mrs. Arthur Ley of Niles; and Mrs. Earl Smith, secretary and treasurer. The I960 reunion will be held at the same place.Mrs. Ley was assisted by Mrs. Boyd Hurley, Benton Harbor, in arranging Sunday's event.Mrs. Tracy Dickey of Niles gave the luncheon invocation.
