Pastor, Wife Set to Observe Silver AnniversaryThe Rev. Chester Carlson, pastor of the First Baptist church of Park Forest, and Mrs. Carlson will observe their 25th wedding anniversary with special worship services Sunday.Special guests at the 10:45 a.m. service will be Dr. Charles W. Roller, former president ofChicago's Northern Baptist Theological seminary, and Oscar W. Green, well-known baritone soloist of Chicago, who sang at the Carlson’s wedding on June 19, 1943.The special services will also mark the 25th anniversary of the Rev. Mr. Carlson's ordination to the ministry.Open house at the church, from 3 to 5 p.m., will be sponsored by the couple's sons, Paul and David, and their daughter, Ruth, in co-operation with the church's social committee.At the Sunday evening worship service at 7 o'clock, the Rev. Mr. Carlson will speak on “If 1 Had It To Do Over Again.''Recently honored by being elected the first president of the American Baptist Churches of the Great Rivers region, the Rev. Mr. Carlson also has served at the First Baptist church of Lexington, 111.; Mannheim Baptist church of Melrose Park, 111.; South Seventh Street Baptist church of Springfield, 111., and the First Baptist church of DeKalb, 111.
