Hattie PerryBARBERRY AND RUST.The barberry is necessary to the stem rust of wheat, and the time is soon here that the barberry will be sending its rust spores to attack the wheat. Most of the barberries were dug in North Dakota last year but there may be a few more left yet and some may not have been dug deep enough and so have sprouted from the roots. Everybody should make a search for any barberry that may be lurking around. If the weather conditions are right a few bushes may start an infection that will cover a large part of the state.
