Polk-NelsonVows Read InBaptist ChurchBaskets of Spring blossoms and candleabra flanked an arch to form the altar setting for the wedding of Miss Deborah Su-sanne Nelson and Michael Danny Polk, Tuesday, June 5 at 7 p.m. in Bethel Baptist Church, Bastrop. The Reverend E. L. Hayes officiated.Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Nelson and Mr. and Mrs. D. D. Polk, all of Bastrop.Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attired in a gown of white Chantilly lace over satin, styled with a high neckline and short, puffed sleeves. Medallions of the lace, encrusted with seed pearls, accented the neckline and waist of the dress. Her elbow - length veil of illusion flowed from a pearl tiara and she carried a bouquet of white carnations, tied with white satin streamers, with two red roses which she presented mothers of the couple.Clad in identically styled gowns, in rainbow shades, were maid of honor, Miss Anne Baker; matron of honor, Mrs. Rose Travis, sister of the groom; and bridesmaid, Miss Pam Courts ney. Their gowns were fashioned in flocked polyester and they carried bouquets of Spring flowers.Flower girl was Miss Karen Travis and ring bearer was Timmy Nelson, the bride's brother. Candlelighters were Arthur and Tony Nelson, brothers of the bride, who also ushered. Attending Mr. Polk as best man was Phillip Williams.A reception was held in the social room of the church, immediately following the ceremony.
