Harlows ofWhitehall Observe50th AnniversaryWhitehall, WIs. — (Special) —Friends who had not seen eachother for 20 years* or more met again Sunday when they eame to Whitehall to attend the golden wedding anniversary celebration of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Harlow, planned for the couple by their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Harlow.Garden flowers decorated the home and. the lawn, where the guests were served refreshments. Two anniversary cakes were provided, one made by Mrs. Adolph Olson and the other a gift from Mrs, E. J. Kidder. Serving were the Mes-dames Leonard Johnson, Selmer Galstad, Floyd Amundson and Willis Briggs and the Misses Clarabelle Woychik and Phyllis Briggs. N. Bartholomew, Stillwater.Mrs. Harlow, 69, the former Florence Breed, was bom October 25, 1876, In the town of Lincoln, daughter of Calvin E. Breed, who came here from New York state soon after the close of the Civil v?ar, in which he took part, and Anna Crane Breed, native of Brooklyn, N. Y.Bom at Coral CityMr. Harlow, 73, was bom December 6, 1872, at Coral City, the then pioneer community which became a ghost town after the Green Bay railway came down the Trempealeau valley and Whitehall was platted in 1873. Mr. Harlow is the son of the late Oscar F. Harlow, native of Vermont, who worked as a millwright at the Coral City mill, and Lucy Scott Kidder, native of Rutland county, N. Y.The couple was married June 10, 1890, by the Rev. George P. Dissmore in a ceremony performed at the home of the bride’s parents. Their attendants were the bridegroom’s half brother, Walter Kidder, and his fiance, Miss Florence Ecker, who were married a year later,Mr. and Mrs. Harlow established their first home with his parents at Ooral City and after residing there about one and a half years, moved to Whitehall and have lived here since.Mr. and Mrs. Harlow have one son, Eugene. Mrs. Harlow has two sisters, Mrs. Alice Dissmore, Whitehall, and Mrs, Edith Herrell, Milwaukee, and one brother, Bert Breed, Whitehall, Two brothers, George P. Breed and Charles H. Breed, are dead. In Mr. Harlow's family there were three children. Only he and his half brother, E. J. Kidder, are left.
