R. 3, Trail on, was instantly killed by a southbound Baltimore and Ohio passenger train nt 7:40 n. m. Friday when he stepped in the path, of I he I rain at Ajns station, two miles south of Trenton.Elhvooil Voncfrom. 0 yenrs old, a grandson tv as the only eye witness to the tragedy. He said that his grandfather wns driving cows to pasture when he slopped on the track apparently not noticing .the speeding train, The train, Baltimore and Ohio No -7, a mail flyer, struck the man, hurling him many feet. His skull was crushed and I he body badly bruised. Dealh was instantuneous.A verdict of accidental dealh will probably be given, Coroner Hugh Gdd said tliis morning.The train was stopped and Wendt’s body brought to Hamilton.Mr. Wcrnlt was well known in the vieinily rP Trenton as a successful farmer. Ills honesty in business dealings and his friendly personality won for him a host of friends to whom li is-sudd on and tragic death will come as a distinct shock.Fred Wcmlt was born in Germany and came to this'country with bis wife Mrs. Reka Wendt, 06 years ago. The gioutur' part of bis life in America yas spent in the vicinity of Trenton, where he soon won and; maintained a position of honor in ' that community/
