It is proper to say here that 8in 1843 Mr. Each assisted Ferdinand 1Bredeiek in building the liret house in Delphos, and that was a primitive log cabin. This firm continued in business uutil 1855, when Mr. Wrock-1 tlage retired to establish, with Mr. Frank btallkamp,the present and well- r known firm of T. Wrocklage Co. 8 In 1858, in company with F. J. King, e ho commenced the building of the 6 Delphos Distillery, which for many 8 years ranked with the most extensive * manufactories in the northwest, em- 1 ploying a large capital and doing an immense business. jMr. Each was a member of the | town Council for several years. The ( First National Bank of Delphos was ] organized in 1804, and the deceased t was one of the original movers in ] its organization and for several years } one of its board of directors. He ( was elocted Commissioner of Allen j county in 1870, and re-elected for a j second term, serving the people of his ( county iu that important position for a period of six years. Here it may be truthfully said that the county ] never had a more efficient and cap- 1 able Commissioner. Duriug his scr- 1 vices as Commissioner ho was an lt;enthusiastic advocate of stone pikes, a matter that was then in its infancy i iu Allen county. Through his ox- 1 ertions a system of road improvements wa9 inaugurated the, fruits of which are now enjoyed by almost every section of the county.31 r. Esch was twice married, first in 1847 to Mary Heckman, in Ft. Jennings, who died in 1857. llis second marriage was in 1859, to Catharine Karst who survives ,him. By tho first wife he has living three children, and six by tho second.
