The Stone Hancocks Observe Their 25th Wedding AnniversaryMr. and Mrs. J. Stone Hancock observed their Silver Wedding Anniversary on Sunday afternoon, June 8th, with a beautifully appointed reception in their North-wood Drive home between the hours of three and six o'clock. The Hancocks’ sons, Jimmy and Jerry, greeted the guests calling between the appointed hours, and invited them to sign the register, placed 011 a table decorated with a single pink carnation in a crystal holder and presided over by Judy Williams, Judy Wilder of Ocean Springs, and Pat Garvin of Hattiesburg, nieces of the honored guests Over two hundred relatives and friends called to congratulate the bridal couple of twenty-five-years-ago, who were receiving in H the living loom where floral bou-a | quels and pot plants, most of M which were gifts, were placed at ;r I vantage points. Mrs. Hancock was charming an a pink lace and chiffon creation of original design and a purple-throated white orchid corsage at her waistline.The tea table in the dinning room was a picture of loveliness e, with its imported Chinese em-:.ej broidered linen and lace cloth over r-1 pale green, an artistic centerpiece d j of white stock and pink carnations is-j set off with silver ribbon strea-djmers and the numerals ‘'25” a j peeping out of the middle. Silver )f j candles in handsome silver cande-jlilabra on either side of the cen-it.ral motif threw a soft glow over 1. the lovely setting. A silver tray, to' holding individual cake squares decorated with roses and silver leaves, graced one end of the table while a large silver punch bowl balanced h at the opposite ena of the table. The napkins on one corner of the table were embossed with silver bells and the inscription “Nona Mae and btone 1933-”8” in silver lettering.Taking turns at the punch bowl w'ere Mrs. Hancock’s sister, Mrs. Hilman Brown, Jr., and Mis. Dwight McDaniel, who was a member of the original wedding party. lg Serving the cakes were Mrs. Howard Wilder of Ocean Springs, a sister-in-law, Mrs. Sam Chancellor and Mrs. A. B. Johnston, Mr. Hancock’s nieces. Others assisting in the dining room were 'e! Mrs, E. J. Kirkland, Mrs. Burton Everett, Miss Joyce McDaniel and Mrs. Edward Garvin of Hattiesburg, another niece of Mr. Hancock, all members of the houseparty had gardenia corsages lor their summer party frocks.Mesdames Dick Graves, H. W. Graves and M. G. Smith were in charge in the gift room, where many and varied presents were displayed to the best advantage. Of special note among the presents was the handsome silver coffee service, a gift from Mr. Hancock to his bride of twenty-llve-years ago. Mr. Bill Brown furnished a soft background of piano tl music throughout the afternoon, while Mr. and Mrs. T. E. Wilder,MR. MRS.
