Rev. Ernest H. Shel-vey of Rivers was honoured with an attractively framed certificate for 50 years of continuous ministry in the Fellowship of the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada. The presentation was made at the annual conference of the Manitoba conference of the PAOC (Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada) which was held in Evangel Chapel in Winnipeg on April I4'h. Rev.Gordon Peters, districtsuperintendent, and general superintendent, Rev. William Morrow of theinternational office in Mississauga, ON performed the honours.Rev. Shelvey graduated from Bethel Bible Institute, now known as Central Pentecostal College, in Saskatoon in 1949 with the licensed minister credential and was ordained on July 9,they pastored a church in King’s Park, Winnipeg, currently called FortRichmond Assembly.0In their years there, Rev. Shelvey took teacher’s training and taught full-time in secon-to Gilbert Plains, Virden,Thompson and Rivers.1 « • * -In the 14 years atGilbert Plains, an extension to the church structure was built.
