R i poneNick and Judy Rapone of 930 Harrison St. celebrated their 40th anniversary May 23 with a party at the Wilson Avenue home of Richard and Mary Beth Rapone. Also hosting the event were Michael and Ann Marie Rapone, Tom and Sheryl Skowronski and Nick Rapone Jr.Special guests were members of the bridal party, the Rev. Joe Mastrangelo who gave the couple an anniversary blessing and Joe and Joanne Commisso of Kingman, Ariz.All guests were asked to submit a favorite memory of the couple, which were compiled into a memory book which was presented to the Rapones. Wedding pictures were displayed and the cou pie received a family portrait.A double-tiered anniversary cake baked by the honorees’ daughter was decorated with the couple’s original cake top. Longstemmed candy rose favors were made by Mary Beth Rapone.A bridal dance featured music by Freddie George of Louisville,Ky.Mr. Rapone and the formerJudy Commisso were married May 29, 1952, in St. Lawrence Church. The Rev. Joseph Mastrangelo officiated.Mr. and Mrs. RaponeMr. Rapone retired in 1985 from Youngstown Sheet and Tube. Mrs. Rapone is employed by K Mart in the Lawrence Village Plaza.The Rapones are members of St. Joseph the Worker Church. He enjoys bowling, his grandchildren, dancing and sports. Mrs. Rapone s hobbies include dancing. cooking and gardening.They are the parents of Sheryl Skowronski and Nick, Richard and Michael Rapone. Nine grandchildren complete the family.
