COUPLE CELEBRATEGOLDKN WEDDINGiA group of sixty relatives and ' friends met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. F: Van Dyke here Saturday!! and aided them in the celebration of their fiftieth wedding anniversary. A co-operative luncheon was served by relatives and friends at the noon hour and presents, flowers and tele-'grams were received by the veteran couple who had walked along the pathway of life together for half a century as tokens of the esteem in which they were held by the peopleof thillcommunity. ,Mrs. Van Dvke said she was proud of the faot that she was born and reared in Linn county and has never resided outside of the Meadville community. •; ■■ V: v ■. •Roth. Mr. and Mrs. Van Dyke are in apparently good health and the event brought to mind many happy remembrances of by-gone days when they were following the “rising sun of life” towards its zenith whichroute will now be changed towards ,the setting sun in life’s pathway, yet, they have little regret and a lot to be thankful for; thankful for a life full of beauty' and pleasure andthankful for the fine family which they have reared as well as thegrandchildren that have come along to bless their declining days.The afternoon was spent informally and wishei were extended formany more years of happiness.Tb» following were among thosepresent: mr. and Mrs. W.
