The celebration will be in the term of an old-time basket picnic and among the twenty-four guests who will gather at the Benckertfetein home will be a son. 52. and a daughter. 57.They are George W. Benckenstein, Kennedy Heights, and Mrs. Caroline Gilmore. Morrow. Ohio. Three other children, Leonard P. Benckcnstein, 59, Orange, Texas; Julius J. Bcncken-stcin. 55. §an Francisco, and Mr* Elizabeth Rugfles. 50. Groveland. Fla . will be unable to attend.Despite his eighty-two years. Benck-er.stein is in the best of health and points with pride to the fact that hecan still touch the floor with 1% hands and kick higher than any of his sons. He is six feet tall, clear-eyed. and at one time was the cham-: pion archer of the United States.Benckenstein is active in civic and social affairs of Cincinnati, being a member of the Rotary Club, the Chamber of Commerce, president emeritus of the School. Mates' Association of the Fourteenth District and , First Intermediate Schools, and a life trustee of the Wyoming Club. He Is also the only living life member of the Mercantile Library, formerly known as the Young Men's Library.It is an interesting fact that Benckcnstein lias eleven grandchildren, ranging in age from 10 to 39 years, and five great-grandchildren, ranging i from 3, to 13 years.At one time he was one of the leading boot and shoe dealers in the West.
