Few modern books have beeu more charmingly illustrated than the cheap editions of Daudet’s inimitable adventures 0of Tartarin. Those who have enjoyed both author and illustrator will be glad to hear that the doughty deeds of the hero of Tarascon are being continued in a work entitled “Port Tarasconf” the first instalment of which appears in the June number of Harper's Magazine. The proprietors must have paid a good round sum for this privilege9 when we see the sales of ‘‘Tartarin de Tarascon ” have reached one hundred and ninety thousand copies.
