for an excess of last year's crop.Decoration Day was observed herewith the usual ceremony. The forenoon was spent in the decoration at the Nichols cemetery, where Capt. C. C. Nichols is buried. At t o'clock the C. C. Nichols Post G. A. R. assembled at their hall, while the schools formed in double file in the yard. As the soldiers passed between the files a committee of young ladies presented wreaths and flowers tor the purpose of decorating. The procession then framed and marched to the cemetery in the following order: MohawkBand, C. C. Nichols Post, New Castle public schools, citizens. After the usual decoration, the procession re-I formed and marched to the church,where the people were addressed very ably by Prof. D. C. Robinson, of Bladensburg. The other exercises consisted of a quartette, and a recitation by Master Worth Lyons, entitled, “Over the Hills Everything in con nection with the exercises was a decided success.Rev, Madison preached the memorial sermon to a crowded house on Sunday. It is needless to say that the sermon was excellent, for Rev. Matti-son don't preach any poor sermons.Decoration services were held at Walbondiog Sunday under the auspices of the Post of this place.
