Memorial andDecoration DaySunday afternoon at the Presbyterian church the Memorial sermon was preached to an apprciative audience by Rev. John Ragle, of Ow-ensville. 'The Rev. Ragle in a very fitting and able way gave voice to the proper ideals of this great occasion.Wednesday afternoon at the Christian church the Decoration services were held and a good program was rendered. At the request of old soldiers Rev. E. E. Bennett! made the address, giving his hearers a very sound and practical American taik. There was three soldiers of the Civil war present: Wm. Whiting, Joseph Culley and John Cavett. Wm. Newman, the only other old soldier living in C-vnthiana was noi. able to attend. After the exercises at the•■hurch automobiles eonveved the%people to the Libetty Cemetery where '.he graves of the soldiers were decorated with flags and flowers.The graves of soldiers in other nearby cemeteries were decorated in the forenoon.It was intended that the Decoration exercises be held in the town park but intermittent showers throughout I the day made this impossible.The general committee appointed for next years are: Z.
