the choir sang the Mass, under the direct ion of Fred Pollmiller. Mrs. Angelina Moline served as organist. Mr. Doering is a pioneer member of the choir.A dinner was served at noon in the private dining room of the Metropolitan hotel to the members of the immediate family.A reception was held in the Doering home in the afternoon from 3 until 6 o’clock. There were many visitors who called during the afternoon and evening.Miss Katherine Dettmer. daughter ©f Edmund and Henrietta Dettmer, was united in marriage to Henry J. Doering, son of George and Mary Doering. July 30. 1889. Mr. and Mrs. Doering have been life long residents of Fort Madison.Mr. Doering operated a meat and sausage market for 2 5 years. He retired from business about 10 years ago. He has been active in civic and religious circles all of his life. He is one of the original volunteer firemen of Fort Madison, and was a member of the old Columbia band, a member of the choir of Sacred Heart Catholic church since its organization in 1 893. He has also served as director of the choir, and was a leader in the various church activities.Mr. and Mrs. Doering are the parents of five children, and all were present for the celebration.
