Indian Monads Around lelaTn.Delatas, Wis., Jaly 24.—The Rev. 8. D. Peet, editor of the American Antiquarian, has been in this vicinity for the past two days investigating the Indian mounds which he recently discovered around Delavan Lake. At Lake Lawn he found a collection or thirty-seven mounds, in the shape of birds, turtles and other animals. Be says there are several effigies which have been obliterated. The object of the group is unfcnown, and yet the number of effigies is in itself quite re* markable. It is seldom that so many are found in the samespace of ground. The size of the effigies varies from 50 to 160 feet in length and 30 to 50 feet m breadth. The group will be immediately reported to the governmentandfnrtherinvestigation will undoubtedly follow._ ;_
