While it has not been phenomenal, it has indicated a healthy growth as evidenced by both business and residential building. A lot of employment has resulted, contributing greatly to the economy of the community.The following review was made without reference to building permit records or other official data, and may overlook some construction which is going on or has been completed this year.In the business district a look up and down the main drag reveals three buildings completed, which were started last year, three businesses which have undergone extensive remodeling,and construction currently going on five other business projects.Walker's Variety, Western Auto Supply Co. and Caribou Oil Co. completed new buildings, started last year, and moved into them. Ken’s Furniture Appliances remodeled the spacious G. W. Yea-man building one door north of the post office, and have moved into it; Wray Chevrolet Co. remodeled and modernized its offices and showroom; and August Stadtmueller has remodeled and redecorated his grocery store building formerly occupied by Star Valley Grocery. He plans to open the store again in the near future and run it himself.The Star Valley State Bank is completing construction on a newbank vault and other added facilities on the rear of their building, and plan to remodel and modernize the front of the building. A new stairway is also being built to the upstairs of the building from the street, making more space available for a modern building entrance. Construction is well under way.W. L. Call is completing work on a new service station at Washington Street and Third Avenue, which is occupied by Texaco Super Service, operated by Dell Tay-som. It is open and operating.Construction is going ahead on the additional wings being built on the Star Valley LDS Hospital. This project should be completed soon if volunteer contributions
