Elmer ‘Schu’ SchumacherLUBBOCK, Texas - Elmer “Sehu” Schumacher, 80, died Sunday, July 23, 2000, at Covenant Medical Center.He was born Nov. 21, 1919, in Victoria. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving with the Third Armored Division in World War II, earning a Bronze Star.He married Beryl Daily on Jan. 17, 1948, in Salina. He was a district parts manager with International Harvester, Co., retiring in 1981 after 40 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Christ the King Cathedral. He had been a resident of Lubbock since 1957.Survivors include his wife; two sisters, Jeannette Younger, Victoria, and Paula Palerimo, Kansas City, Mo.; three brothers, Leland and Norman, Victoria, and Melvin, Overland Park.Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Christ the King Cathedral, Lubbock, with Father Ben Kasteel officiating; burial in Resthaven Memorial 'Park; ■ • • ;'A rosary will be at 7:36 p.m. Wednesday in the Resthaven Abby Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Christ the King Cathedral.
