Johnson of the Seminary at Fort Worth will be the visiting preacher and Brother Jim Bob Spears of McKinney will lead the singing. The choir, Booster Band, and prayer meeting serviceswill begin at 7:45 and preachingwill be at 8 o’clock. Everyone is invited to attend. It will last until August 3. Fltease come. There will be back yard prayer meeting services Monday night through Thursday night. Monday night will be at the home of Oscar Eades, Tuesday at J. D. McDonald home, Wednesday at the Lewis Wyly home and Thursday at the Fred Carey home. All are invited to attend these meetings.Vacation Bible School was very successful this year. There was an enrollment of (52 and an average attendance of 01. The juniors had the largest class with 19 enrolled.Commencement was held Friday night and was well attended. They had a good program and very good refreshments afterwards consisting of cookies and punch. Everyone enjoyed the good fellowship.John Handley and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Brown and Billy of Stephenville went to Rock-port Thursday and cnme home Sunday. They reported a good catch and an enjoyable trip.There is quite a lot of sickness in our community. Miss Joyce Wyly has been very ill these past weeks and is confined to the bed one more week. This was the first summer Joyce has ever been absent from Vacation Bible School.Mrs. Marie Carpenter is very ill and in the hospital.Mrs. R. E. Simmons is still in the hospital in Crystal City. We hope that all three of you will soon be well and be back with us at church.Brother J. V. Helms, the ex-pastor of our church visited with friends in the community on the tenth of the month. He is of PointComfort.Mr. and Mrs. James Earner and Jimmy and Linda of Stephenville visited in the community with re lutives and friends.Mr. and Mrs. F. N. Hatchett of Oklahoma visited with Mr. and Mrs. Neal Hatchett the past few days. They came after their daughter, Evelyn, who has beenstaying with her grandparents for the past two months. They left Saturday night.Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Koonsman,Janice, Billy Paul and Nancy and Denna went to Haskell last weekend. Janice also went to San Antonio for a week to visit with relatives.Mr. and Mrs. Truman Davis of San Antonio spent three days in the home of Mr. and Mrs. D. I). Waldrep.Miss Nova Wood is visiting in the home of relatives in Lockney.Mrs. Garner and Faye went to Houston this past week to visit with relatives.Brother Hall of Fort Worth visited in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Tennyson. lie was holding a revival at Cedar Point.Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Bailey of Halfway visited in the W. H. Koonsman home.Miss Anna Kaye Carey of Hurstvisited with friends and relatives of this community over the weekend.Grady Wyly and Rex Carey said to tell everybody they had been baling hay for the last few days and that they were tired.James Johnson of Lubbock, ex-lesident of this community, visited with friends over the weekend.Adult II had charge of the 6TU program Sunday night. Miss Carolyn Waldrep and Rex Carey sang a special song.The Young People Class had a watermelon feast Saturday ni£ht at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Garvin Wood. We enjoyed the ice cold watermelon and games. Everyone reported a good time.John Tom and Raney Bailey of Cresson went home Sunday after a weeks \isit with Mrs. Ruth Bailev.Rites Held in Brady for Father Of Mrs. CaudleFuneral’ services wore hold at 3 p. m. Sunday in the Rradv Chapel for Roy F. Blackwell, fifi, father of Mrs. Roland W. Caudle of Stephenville, who died Saturday morning:, July 1!, in a Brady hospital following a brief illness.*Mr. Blackwell is also survivedby his widow; two sons, GlennBlackwell of Salt Gap and Howard Blackwell of Fife, and seven grandchildren.Several Stephenville residentsattended the final rites, including Mr. and Mrs. John Tom Heaton, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Parnell, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Sherrod, Mrs. C. C. Booth, Mrs. Philip Price and Mrs. Edna Wade.
