WEDDING ANNIVERSARYFifty years of happy wedded life had passed Wednesday, July 16, for Mr. and Mrs. William F. Hollman, of i Vincennes, children, grand-children and friends gathered at their home, I 519 South Fourth Street, where they have lived forty-eight yers, to rejoice with the celebrants over their wondrous hppy event.! A sumptous dinner was served at high noon. The Rev. Carey Thomas, a Baptist minister of Philadelphia, i who formerlw resided there, led in prayer. The wedding cake held 50 : small candles for the golden anniversary, and 37 larger candles to de-j note the age of the groom at the i time of his marriage, j At seven o’clock a luncheon was .served and callers partook of delicious punch, cake, cream and iced watermelon.The Holman home was decorated with baskets of yellow wild flowers I nasturtiums and cannas. Above the wedding table was a bell of yellow snap dragons from which yellow ribbons witih pluma asparagus ferns descended and were caught with bows , to crystal candelbras with golden (shades.I The bride of fifty years presented a most charming picture, her silver hair was covered with an heirloom veil of fleecy net and surmounted by a golden wreath of flowers and buds. Mrs. Holman’s mother wore the veil at her golden wedding anniversary in Berlin. Her dress of soft mull was j trimmed in lace with a satin girdle and she wore a corsage boquet of cream colored roses. The groom wore the conventional suit of black.! Among the guests were Mrs. John Schrook, of Fischer, 111., who is an '■ adopted sister of Mrs. Holman and who was brides’ maid at the Holman | wedding fifty years ago. Mrs. Sch-j rook wore a dress of Heliotrope satin. The daughters and granddaughters wore white organdy with I parti colored trimmings.Mr. and Mrs. Holman were heartily remembered by friends. (I Mr. nd Mrs. Holman are the par-jents of six children, one of which died in infancy, and one son, Will-' iam, died six years ago. The living ! children are Henry Holman, a farmer of Harrison township, Mrs. John Miller, of Bicknell, Herbert Holman, a chemist, of Washington, D. C., Mrs. Bertha Keith, a teacher in the local schools, who next year will be critic teacher in the Tri-State College at Angola, Ind. The out of town guests were Rev. Carey Thomas, pastor of the Belmont avenue Baptist church of Philadelphia, Miss Christabel Thomas, of Escondido, Ca)., Mrs. J. C. Schrook and daughter, Miss Emma Schrook, Mrs. Walter Unziker and sons, Walter and Joseph, of Fisher, II!., Miss Hilda Wihvoek and .Miss Mary Wallerman, of Edwurdsport, Mrs. Mary Chambers, of Linton, Mr. Herman Fulcher and Mr. and Mis. Henry Fulcher and Miss Ruth Gompf and Miss Bernice Wyatt of Petersburg.
