Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Halberg Observed 25th AnniversaryMr. and Mrs. Leroy Halberg, 1202, Kuivinen Street, were honored July 16 at their home with a gathering for relatives and friends in observance of their 25th wedding anniversary. A social time was held, with the honored couple receiving many cards and gifts.Decoration followed a silver motif with a large wedding bell decked in silver used as a centerpice. A buffet luncheon was served. A large cake enscribed, “Happy Anniversary’’, with the 25th lettering also centered the luncheon table.Mrs .Halberg wore a street length purple knit dress for the occasion, with matching accessories. He corsage of miniature pink roses and white carnations and Mr. Halberg’s white carnation boutonniere were gifts of their children.The former Dorothy Kehring was united in marriage to Leroy Halberg on July 16, 1945 in Bessemer. Attending the couple were Mr .and Mrs. William Scherer of Chicago. They have resided in Wakefield since that time. Halberg has worked in this area in the field of construction.They have three children two daughters, Mrs. Robert D. Ahonen, the former Beverly Halberg of Wakefield, Miss Sherry Halberg at home and one son, AN Gary Halberg, who is serving with the U. S. Navy at Virginia Beach, Va.; and one granddaughter, Kim Marie Ahonen.Attending were the Rev. Donald Fus, Bessemer; Mr. and Mrs. Els-worth Halberg, Mrs .Jerry Bryant, Mr. and Mrs. Don Mahon, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Halberg, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Johnson and children, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Tarnaski, Mrs. Elmer Hyppa, Mrs. Leroy Picoldi, Mrs. Arnold Perry, Mr .and Mrs. Bill Suomi, Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Jarvi, Mrs. Hjalmer Ahonen, Mr. and Mrs. Arvi Ahonen and Children, Mr. and Mrs. Robert D. Ahonen and Kim.Serving as hostsses for the occasion were the couples daughters, Mrs. Ahonen and Miss Sherry Halberg.
