Post office crew 60 years agoAnother Le Mars resident has turned up with an old post office photograpah. This one is owned by Henry Thompson, Le Mars, retired postal employe, and was taken 60 years ago. Mr. Thompson wasn't on hand for the photograph the newspapers published recently. That picture was owned by Ray Edmonds, Le Mars,and showed the 1934 employes, My picture was taken in horse and buggy days/' Mr. Thompson said.The post office in 1904 was located in the old opera house, where Hansen hardware and Burton Dull'slaw office are now located on Plymouth St. There were three city and 10 rural carriers. Former Postmaster Ray Edmonds also appears on this photograph.
