ScottThe marriage of Ruth Ann Heald and Charles Eaton Scott was solemnized at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 28, in the First United Presbyterian Church.The former Miss Heald is the daughter )f Mr. and Mrs. Charles J. Heald of 1018 Allegheny Ave. Parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs Glenn E Scott of 622 Mitchell Ave.Th° Rev. Robert B. Smith, pastor, was the officiating clergyman for the doublering service. Mrs. Raymond M Henry was organist and Mrs. Bridget Hess was vocalist.The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a Victorian styled white organdy gown trimmed in pink satin and styled with a high neckline and long sleeves. She wore a floor-length veil of pink illusion trimmed in pink satin and secured by a pink floral headpiece. The gown and veil had been worn by the bride’s aunt, Mrs. John Hanna, of White Plains, Md.Miss Pamela Heald of Oil City, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor. She wore a floor-length pink floral chiffon gown and carried a white lace fan adorned by light pink and white miniature carnations, baby’s breath, stephan-otis and red roses.Other attendants were Miss Mary Kay Ward and Miss Debra Moyer, both of Oil City, and Mrs. Gary (Christine) McGinn-ity of Meadville, cousin of the bride.They wore pink floral chiffon gowns and carried white lace fans with light pink and white miniature carnations, baby’s breath and red roses.Best man for the bridegroom was his brother, Robert Scott of Meadville. Ushers were Charles Heald of Oil City, brother of the bride, William Siegall of Oil City and Jeff Smith of Butler.A white street-length dress trimmed in navy blue was worn by the bride’s mother. A pink street-length dress was chosen by the bridegroom’s mother. Their flowers were a corsage of pinkminiature carnations.The newlyweds greeted 200 guests at a reception in Fellowship Hall of the church. Aides were Mrs. William Siegall. Mrs Robert Schotts. Mrs. George Bridge, Mrs. James Franks, Miss Vicki Kissinger and Mrs. Richard Gerner. Out-of-town guests attended from California, Delaware, Maryland, New York, Georgia. South Carolina arid Ohio.A floral arrangement topped the wedding cake which was baked by Mary Kay Lowrey.The new Mr. and Mrs. Scott are residing in Wauseon, Ohio, following a wedding trip to Toronto, Canada For traveling the bride selected a red and white dotted swiss dress.The bride, a 1975 graduate of Cranberry Area High School, was graduated in 1976 from the Median School of Allied Health Careers. She was formerly employed in the cardio-respiratory department at Franklin Hospital.Mr. Scott is a 1974 graduate of Wyoming Seminary and a 1978 graduate of Grove City College. He is employed as a manager with ServiceMaster in Wauseon, Ohio.ObituariesR. L. Douglas, 54,worked at SearsRobert L. Douglas, 54, of 57 Oak Grov St., died at 2:10 a m today at the O: City Hospital.Born Aug. 15, 1925, at Oil City, he wa a son of Charles A and Sylvia Cauve Douglas. Mr. Douglas graduated fron Oil City High School in 1943 and was j lifelong city resident.He had been employed by Sears Roe buck Co., Oil City, for the past 20 years.He and the former Betty J. Gaddesj were married May 18, 1946, and she survives.He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church.A veteran of the U.S. Army, Mr. Douglas saw service during World War II, and following his discharge, served in the Army Reserve, assigned to the 409th C.I.D. Unit for 26 years, retiring with the rank of major in 1969.He held membership in B.P.O. Elks Lodge, the Loyal Order of Moose and the Veteran's of Foreign Wars in addition to being a member of the American Federation of Musicians and the Retired Reserve Officers Club.He was a musician, performing with the Steel Guitar Player’s Country Company BandSurviving along with his wife are two sons, Charles Robert Douglas of DuBois and Gary J Douglas, Seneca, one daughter, Mrs. Miles (Candis Ann) Truitt Jr., Oil City; one sister, Mrs. Chester (Leona) Johnson, Anderson, Ind.; one brother, Clair C. Douglas, Oil City. Six grandchildren also survive.Two sisters and four brothers died previously.The family will receive friends at the Jonathan H. Hutchinson Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday. Funeral services will be held at the funeral Friday at 11 a m. with the Rev. Lawrence A. Lyman, pastor of Calvary United MethodistChurch officiating
