Branding iron party slated at LexingtonBy NANCY PERRYThere’ll be a hot time in the old town of Lexington on Saturday. Aug. 14. as the fire will be kindled high to heat branding irons for a new inovation in preserving a bit more area history.Cattlemen from throughout the state are invited to burn their official brand into a specially prepared board which will be on permanent display in Lexington’s museum—’Pioneer Village.In exchange for a minimum contribution of S5 to ' Pioneer Village. brands will be burned into the board and information.stories of interest and even pictures concerning each brand will be placed on file in a museum directory.The branding party will also include a hamburger supper featuring 100%-beef char-broiled hamburgers.Proceeds from the party will be used to pay for the cost incurred in the renovation of Lexington's log cabins which were dedicated as Pioneer Village as Lexington's Bicentennial project.Further information on thebranding party is available from Jack Hardy.
