DEATHS AND FUNERALS.John McCabe Dies of Injuries Received at Home in Waeh-injrton Townahlp.John McCabe, widely known and highly esteemed resident of Washington township, who was kicked In the ab-domen, several days ago by a sick colt he was doctoring died early this morning. The accident was most unfortu-nate inasmuch as Mr. McCabe had notthoroughly recovered from an operationperformed last November for the relief of an ailment of the stomach and his i body was still tender as a result. A | second operation was performed yesterday by Dr. McOscar, of Ft. Wayne, as-sisted by Dr. Brundage, of Delphos, and Dr. D. D. Clark, of Decatur, in the | hope of saving bis life. It was found ; that the intestines had been broken in two places by the blow from the animal's hoofs. Mr. McCabe was unmarried and resided with his sister, Miss Phoebe McCabe. He is also survived by two brothers and a sister, Mrs. John Stevens, wife of the superintendent of the county infirmary, and Newton and Joseph McCabe, who reside in the West. Definite funeral arrangements have not been formed but the services will probably be held at the home, Monday.
