Joining with them in the happy* affair were theireight children and their families, three» •generations being represented at the ■*festivitie8 in theTMoore household - in Berkeley.-Varied and picturesque has been the career of Alonzo Moore; and his Spanish bride. They have seen Berkeley,• • • iand all the region about the bay, develop from a sparsely inhabited section into a rich, prosperous, and populous region..When-Alonzo Moore came to Berkeley, in 1856, there was not a sign that ever would a community of wealth and culture be founded'and develop on the site of the present University town. Mr. Moore with his .wife and family can tell stories of great interest regarding the transition period through which they have seen this community pass, and proud they are that it was their lot to see this miralce w’roughtbefore their eyes during the last half%century.%Miss Sisterna’s parents came to Cal-• %ffornia-from Valparaiso In —' Chile in-±~.1851, when Miss Sisterna was but 14 __yeara_olcL—AlQnzo_JMoor.e-hecame._ac--quainted with the family and wooed and won the pretty maiden who wail esteemed the flower of ,the familyr-a belle of those days.
