Huntingdon will play the winner on Wednesday in Windber.Ryan Fisher was overpowering for Huntingdon as he threw just 68 pitches in striking out three, walking none and allowing eight hits — all singles. Fisher also helped himself at the plate, going two-for-two with two RBI’s, including a solo home run.“The run we picked up in the first inning was very crucial,” stated Huntingdon manager Larry Shope. “Wc also showed composure when Erickson tied the score and we went back ahead in the third. Ryan was on top of his game tonight as he pitched extremely well and also collected two key hits for us.”Huntingdon started out in the first as Jimmy Burkey led off with a base hit and a fielder’s choice but Paul Kozak gave Huntingdon one out before Travis Cook and Fisher both walked to load the bases. Sean Rainey then hit a sacrifice fly to score Kozak. On the sacrifice, Erickson made it a double play by nailing Fisher at second base to end the inning.Erickson came right back as Paul Byer singled and moved to second on a groundout. A clutch base hit by Ryan Krischer scored Byer to let Erickson tie the score.Huntingdon took the lead for good in the third as Burkey hit a bunt single and Kozak walked. Two straight RBI singles by Fisher and Rainey gave Huntingdon a 3-1 lead while Fisher continued to shut down Erickson while getting solid defense to back him up.Erickson tried to mount a comeback in the fifth with two outs as Byer and Billy Rose both singled before Craig Erdman made a catch at the centerfield fence to end the threat.FlQhf*r If'H nffth# HnntinoHnn civthwith a blast over the left field fence for an insurance run to give Huntingdon a 4-1 lead. Huntingdon then loaded the bases as Erdman reached on an error and Bruce Henrich and Jason Jackson followed with base hits. A strikeout, however, ended the chance for any more runs.Erickson gave Huntingdon a scare in the bottom of the sixth as Aaron Bloom and Mike DeCoske singled while Evan Harris reached on an £rror to load the bases. Ryan Davis then flew out to Kozak to end the game.“Erickson played us tough and I give them a lot of credit for playing well,” commented Shope. “I expect a difficult game on Wednesday againsteither Erickson or Somerset. I also hope we continue to have good crowd support like we’ve been getting.”Byer suffered the loss for Erickson as he whiffed eight, walked three and allowed seven hits.
