Grads of Patoka High mark 50th anniversaryThe 1926 graduating class of the former Patoka High School met in the dining area of the Patoka Methodist Church on Saturday for a 6:30 p.m. dinner, commemorating their 50th anniversary. Their color motif of purple and gold was carried out in the table decorations with potted violets, gold streamers and tall white tapers. Mrs. Margaret Johnson gave the invocation.Following the dinner, a memorial was conducted in the sanctuary by Mrs. Paul Baker for a deceased classmate, Dale Bruner.Wilbur Hitch gave a travelog, illustrated by movies of Mexico, Canada and Alaska.After the meeting at the church, the group gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Herschel Jacobus, south ofPrinceton, for visiting and reminiscing.Those attending the reunion were Mr. and Mrs. French Witherspoon and Mrs. Margaret Beck Johnson, of Patoka; Mrs. Lucille McRoberts Baker and Paul Baker of Brownsburg; Mrs. Lois Claymier Hitch, Wilbur Hitch and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Smith, all of Indianapolis; Rollie Ackman of Port Richey, Mrs. Ruby Pauley Baum of Boonville; Mrs. George Munier of Fort Branch; Mr. and Mrs. George Jones and the host and hostess, Grace Bilderback Jacobus and Herschel Jacobus of Princeton.Two members were not present, namely, Harley Ackman, who was hospitalized, and Charles Duncan.
