If not the oldest citizen living in Marion county, in the person of Mrs. Harriet Sibley, who is now past ninety-eight years of age and haslived to see the fifth generation.Mrs. Silvey, grandma, as she is called by all, is a very remarkable old lady, she is enjoying good health and looks much younger than she really is. Her eye sight is almost perfect, without the use of glasses.Mrs. Silvey was born in Pittsburg, Pa., in the year 1825, came to Keokuk, seventy-one years ago. Then to Oskaloosa in 18G5, hten to Flagler about twenty two years ago, where she has since made her home with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John Williams.The five generations are as follows: Mrs. Harriet Silvey and her daughter, Mrs. John Williams, of Flagler; Mrs. William's daughter, Mrs. Bell Retalick, of Jackson, Minnesota, Mrs. Retaliek’s daughter, Mrs. Bessie Hemphill, of Melford, Iowa; Mrs. Hemphills' daughter, Iona Hemphill, four years old.Grandma Silvey has twenty grand children and four great great grand children.—Knoxville Journal.
