DOINGThere now hangs in the reception .suite of the Wichita Falls Clinic-Hospital, 1300 Eighth, anoil portrait of the man whose name is synonomous with the medical history of Wichita Falls and Texas,A beautifully 'gold framed lifelike painting of Dr. O. B. Kiel, only living founder of Wichita Falls Clinic-Hospital and one of the nation's outstanding figures in the medical field, graces a wall of the reception room with impressive dignity.The painting, startling in its likeness to the physician, was a surprise gift to **Dr. O. B. Kiel, our good friend and personal physician, whom we hold in high os-tevm for his outstanding service to humanity’* from L. H. Cullum,: Lamar D. Fain, Charles P. Mc-Gaha and Joe J. Perkins.F5i3 Role The above inscription beneath the portrait bespeaks of the role in the field of medicine as played by this long time Wichitan for 40 years, and the recognition of his “service to humanity” from his fellow citizens.Dr. Kiel was one of three founders of the Wichita Falls Clinic-Hospital.It was in 1919, just after three young physicians had completed their military sendee in World War One, that Dr. Everett Jones, Dr. Q. B. Lee, and Dr. Kiel formed a partnership that was to result in one of the Southwest’s leading medical institution^ and place their names in the annals of medical history.The hospital was built by these three physicians as a corporation, supported by a group of Wichita j Falls business men, without whose j support the hospital would have been an impossibility. Kiel, one of the city’s and state’s best known medical men, now hangs in the reception suite of Wichita Falls Clinic-Hospital. Dr. Kiel, one of the three founders of the hospital and the only living original partner, was presented the surprise gift by four outstanding fellow citizens. They are L. H. Cullum* Lamar D. Patients now will have their choice of either the Wichita General Hospital or the Bethania Hospital here.Big Staff All offices and suites of the clinic doctors are being remodeled and an entire new front of the building has been designed.Twenty-four doctors now have offices in the hospital and more will be r dded as facilities become available. Twelve divisions of medical specialties are represent-ed.The present staff includes Drs. 0. B. Kiel, W. L. Parker, J. B. Nail, W. B. Whiting, P. K. Smith, R. L. Nelson, Roland F. Knox, R. A. Mitchell, W. E. Crump, James T. Lee, Claude D. Wilson, Jack E. Maxfield, I. L. Humphrey, George W. Slaughter, Charles H. Wilson, Julian H. Acker, Joe D. Steed, Warren T. Kable, Clyde W. Parsons, Samuel M. Sevier, E. E. Stewart, Robert E. Higgs, William P. Lochte, and Frank J. Lee.Dr. and Mrs. Kiel reside at 2194 Miramar. Their son, O. B. Kiel Jr. resides at 3201 Glenwcod and their daughter, the former Martha Gene Kiel who now is Mrs. E. B. | Clark Jr., resides at 1820 Elev-1 enth.
